Man steals brains from dead mental patients and sells them on eBay

David Charles sold a San Diego man six jars of human brains for $600, but the man questioned the legality of the purchase after noticing labels from the Indiana Medical History Museum affixed to the jars. After contacting authorities, a sting was set up to arrest Charles, who the day prior had stolen 60 jars of human tissue.

An Indiana man stole the brains of dead mental patients and sold them on eBay, police said.
"It is a peculiar situation," Indianapolis Police Officer Christopher Wilburn told the Daily News. "An unsuspecting person in San Diego (who bought the brains) looked at the items and felt they were kind of suspicious in nature."

That eBay customer noticed labels for the Indiana Medical History Museum on the six jars of human brains he purchased for $600. He alerted the museum and the Indianapolis police force, authorities said.
Police set up a sting in a Dairy Queen parking lot on Dec. 16, in which police told the eBay middle man to arrange a meeting for another organ-swapping deal with the suspected brain thief, reported the Indianapolis Star.
